Savannah had the most fun in the children's portion of the museum. Here she got a taste of Native American life by first learning that about the crops they grew and picking the corn.
Next she took it into the life size pueblo where where children could grind the corn for tortillas or store it in a damp, dark area built into the wall.
Here Savannah is bringing more crops in from the field.
Now she is cooking it.
In this part of the pueblo they explained how the baskets are made and then you put the lego type pieces together smallest to biggest to mimic basket making. Let me just tell you we stayed here for a long time.
This is just one of many awesome exhibits in the children's area and the best part is that they were all hands on. It doesn't always make sense when we just read about stuff in books. But if Savannah goes and learns by seeing and doing she will memorize every detail. We could have spent so much more time here.
The last pic if from a dinosaur nest that had eggs in it. I think she has finally figured out just how big the dinos were!
